ABSTRACT: Food nanotechnology is rapidly progressing in recent years. One of its important issues is development of intelligent packaging materials that also serve as quality sensors. In this study, we prepared ZnS quantum dots in carboxymethyl cellulose and investigated the physicochemical and optical properties of the obtained nanocomposite. We found out that its emission properties depend on the pH which makes it a potential freshness indicator.
